M1™ Oscilloscope Tools is reliant on the quality and precision of the platforms on which it operates. The high-precision real-time oscilloscopes that are used to perform the test will determine the asymptotic repeatability of
the subsequent M1™ measurements (first-order determinants of this are
front-end noise, quantization error and sample clock jitter). The memory depth,
in conjunction with sample rate, determines how many consecutive cycles
can be captured. Other aspects of the operation or design of the
scopes will drive other convenience and performance parameters. We are
happy to provide some best practices on how to make the most accurate measurements possible.
ASA's
family of M1™ Oscilloscope Tools can be used exterior to a select group
of real-time oscilloscopes, as well as inside most currently available
Windows®-based real-time oscilloscopes. The instruments that ASA has chosen to use with M1™ are the best.
M1 Oscilloscope Tools is priced according to the speed of the scope. To see which version of M1 you need, go to our M1 Companion Level Selector page, or by using the applet below.

RMS Repeatability is measured by inserting a very precise (timing
specifications) logic signal source running at 2.5 GBPS data rate
running in clock mode and measuring the clock period with the M1/scope
system and its standard deviation. The standard deviation of this
actual measurement is the RMS repeatability.

Hidden Anomaly Location™
An expert system that constantly monitors waveform health for subtle waveform integrity problems, regardless of scope brand. Upon detection, HAL™ links you to a database with explanations and suggested courses of action.
M1 Cirrus™
You might be eligible for a no-cost copy of M1 OT™ under
the Cirrus program.
M1 Waveform Viewer™
Explore and share wave-forms from all of your scopes in a single interface with ASA's award-winning, no-cost Waveform Viewer.
