Ease of Use
From the very start, ease of use was a driving factor in the design
of M1™ Oscilloscope Tools™. A great deal of effort was
put into designing an interface that was both approachable and
intuitive to the novice users, while not hiding M1 OT's powerful
functionality from the sophisticated user. In addition, by providing
a common UI for all of your scopes, regardless of manufacturer,
M1 OT™ allows you to switch between scopes more quickly because
you don't need to reacquaint yourself with a different interface.
Ease of use also comes from M1 OT's embedded intelligence
features automatically taking care of numerous tasks without
requiring your input. At startup,
AutoMeasure™ will detect your scope, classify your signals,
and bring up a relevant set of measurements without your having had
to touch a single button. The
Hidden Anomaly Locater™ (HAL™) will scan your
waveforms and report any potential problems to you, without your
having had to set anything up or know what kinds of problems to
look for. Status indicators keep you informed of what M1 is doing. Other, smaller, bits of built-in intelligence are
sprinkled throughout M1 OT™, all with the purpose of making
your work easier to accomplish.
No matter how easy it is to use, it's at least as important that
the UI enable you to effectively do your work. M1 OT's
purpose-driven interface makes moving across the waveform surface
both within and across acquisitions more effective than what
you're doing now. All of the tools and controls you might need
in a given situation are readily available with just a few clicks.
