ASA Corp. Adds Powerful, Unique New Waveform Decode Functionality to M1 OT

ASA today announced the release of unique new serial decode tools for their M1 Oscilloscope Tools software family that enables faster and easier decode and debug on Tektronix, Agilent, LeCroy or Yokogawa oscilloscopes.

Amherst, MA USA…. July 1, 2008

Amherst Systems Associates Inc (ASA Corp.) today announced the release of M1-OT v5.02, which includes powerful new waveform decode functionality and multi-margin capability for Eye Masks, among other changes.  This is a free upgrade for any M1 user with an active Software Subscription.

When you're trying to get to the bottom of a problem in your encoded waveform, being able to see when things happen... what values are present or not present... how often certain values or groups of values come up, can provide important insights into rapidly drilling down to the source of the problem. M1-OT v5.02 has several unique new views to do this, which include viewing your encoded waveform fields (address, data, control when appropriate) versus time (i.e. see when that value/values occur) as well as viewing how the range of values distribute in a histogram.

Another useful new exploratory mode occurs when searching for values of a field (e.g. frame starts, data values, addresses, R/W, etc.). Decode Search in M1 allows you to search on individual or multiple values, for example, multiple address values for I2C or multiple PID valus in a LIN waveform... you can move from one specific event to another and M1 will keep the decode-timing view synched with the M1 ScopeView as well as any other vs-time views. This will allow you to rapidly associate potentially pathological waveform features by their proximity to the event. These unique insights can be the difference in rapidly finding the root cause of a problem vs lingering on it for days.

M1’s new Decode functionality provides customers a common Decode and Debug process independent from specific manufacturer oscilloscope software from Tektronix, Agilent, and LeCroy. ASA’s M1 Oscilloscope Tools can deliver a more cost-effective option to all scope users, as well as the only product in the marketplace that can provide correlated results because engineers can now use an analysis engine that is identical no matter whose scope they are using. Further organizational efficiencies are contributed by other commonalities such as a common data format, a common interface, and a common automation standard.

U.S. Availability and Pricing

M1-OT v5.02 will be available on July 7, 2008. M1-OT employs "scalable pricing", where the actual price level is determined by the scope with which you will use it. Pricing ranges from $995US to $7995US in five steps. For more information, please see the product web site.
