M1OT v6.03 with Compliance Breakout and LAN Connectivity
The debug solution to compliance-specific failures

Scenario... you're doing, say, DDR3 compliance testing and get occasional failures on one of those "unique" measurements like tHZ(DQ) max. How do you track it down to root cause?

Solution... With M1OT's Compliance Breakout, you can directly view, explore and isolate those failures, as well as compare them with other analysis domains/signals to get to the bottom of why. In the scenario above, Compliance Breakout would provide you with the option to view any of the following views of tHZ(DQ):

  • vs time
  • histogram
  • Multi-acquisition analysis (long time-scale analysis... how tHZ(DQ) varies from capture to capture)
  • Isolated Subpopulation view (i.e. only the failures vs time)
  • And, synchronize/compare any of the above to other signals or analysis domains

to quickly get to the bottom of your problem.

Compliance Breakout is one of the new capabilities in M1 v6.03 and works with any of the compliance-specific measurements in any of the compliance tests supported by M1. This feature has been designed to also work with any user-defined technology-specific measurements.  To learn more, please visit:

Accelerating Scope and M1 Performance
M1OT v6.03 gives you control over system responsiveness and performance

One of the challenges of running on everything is balancing the performance burden between the scope and the computer. Whether you're running M1 internally or externally... on a blazing fast new scope with a gig of memory or an old steam-powered scope with the slowest Pentium and the smallest screen ever seen... no matter how fast or slow your computer is... the new version of M1OT can help you tune the scope and M1 to provide optimum performance:

  • LAN connectivity that separates analysis and acquisition to different computers (our advice is that every customer should run in this mode)
  • Built-in tools and wizards to set the scope for maximum analysis throughput
  • Built in tools and wizards to set M1 background processing (e.g. embedded intelligence) for minimum burden on the compute environment

The "Quick Decision" Incentive

Select customers evaluating M1 OT will be invited to take part in a discount program that actively rewards quick purchase decisions.  The Quick Decision Incentive is intended to reward those customers who are able to quickly recognize the large number of benefits that M1 OT will provide to their company's measurement workflow, both at the point of measurement as well as at the larger organizational level.  Invitees who are able to submit a PO including accelerated payment within a short time window become entitled to
  • 3 no-cost licenses for M1 Reader ($750 value)
  • 1 year of M1 Subscription at no charge (up to $1000 value)
  • a 50% discount on a second and/or third M1 OT license and Subscription purchase appearing on the same PO

If you think you will be evaluating scope software at any point in the next quarter, make sure you begin your evaluation soon to ensure eligibility for the incentive.

Reducing Your Scope Rental Costs with M1

If your organization frequently uses rental scopes for an extended period, take a look at the opportunity to save thousands of dollars per month by using M1OT instead of ScopeCo's software with these rental oscilloscopes. The additional charges for software can easily exceed $1,500 per scope per month if your requirements include compliance testing such as DDR2, DDR3 or PCIe. With M1OT now available from several rental partners, you will be able to both increase your productivity and lower your monthly expenses.

Organizations relying heavily on rented scopes should also consider that ASA Volume Licensing can be immediately self-funding for their company for as few as 10 to 15 rental scopes.  That is, the rental cost of the software on those 10-15 scopes is very close to the $15k/month fee for an M1 Site License. That means you not only get M1 on those rented scopes, but also on the every other scope at your site as well as M1 Reader on every engineer's laptop.  If you're renting more than about 15 scopes, you'll actually have less money going out the door every month. And that is before taking advantage of the enterprise-wide effectiveness steps that can be realized by having a common measurement tool architecture with advanced debug, team collaboration, off-line processing and able to be deployed anywhere within an entire campus for a low monthly fee.

M1 ScopeMatch™ Program Update

ASA has decided to temporarily suspend our popular ScopeMatch program.  Given the discount levels customers have reported (60, 70, even more than 80% in some cases), we don't feel the incremental impact we can contribute merits keeping the program in effect at this time.  As the economy rebounds and we see an opportunity to make a significant impact on your hardware purchase, ASA will restart the ScopeMatch program.
