HIDDEN ANOMALY LOCATOR™ (HAL)

tomandmike
Imagine having your own personal Signal Integrity consultant looking over your shoulder at every acquisition you take, looking for issues in your signal that you may have missed or not even thought to look for, or even just finding those issues much faster than you could have on your own.  Would that be useful to you?

Imagine an intelligent software SI consultant that can automatically uncover a single metastable edge across hundreds of acquisitions (or any of a dozen other types of signal anomalies, like ringing or frequency drift or PLL divider issues or…) and immediately bring it to your attention.  That would certainly be less expensive than bringing in a consultant, wouldn't it?

Imagine then, with one click, being taken to an online resource where you can find information on the causes, impact, and possible solutions to the particular type of problem found.  Do you think you might be able to do your job faster/better as a result?

Say hello to HAL, the Hidden Anomaly Locater in M1 Oscilloscope Tools v5.  HAL can do the hard work of finding those elusive signal problems for you, but go ahead and take the credit yourself.  HAL won't mind.

USER INTERFACE UPDATES

old_to_new

ASA has made a number of changes to the UI for M1 v5, designed to make the interface even easier to use.  The active view is now more obviously highlighted in color.  Color is also used to visually tie the active view to the controls that will affect that view.  We've added the ability to minimize the thumbnail views even more, as well as other more subtle changes that maximize the screen area for the views you're most interested in.  Some controls have been repositioned and grouped for easier access as well.

Scope Animation

M1 v5's new Scope Animation feature gives the user the feel of a rapidly-updating oscilloscope front-panel from within M1's ScopeView™ display.  It even includes variable persistence to help you spot those visual clues pointing to possible problems with your waveform.  There's also none of the dead time between triggers where something can slip through like there is when looking at the scope's display, since Scope Animation is generated from a single continuous acquisition record. animation_pers_5

Zoom Position Indicator

The new Zoom Position Indicator improves on M1's award-winning waveform exploration capabilities by providing an at-a-glance indication of what portion of the entire acquisition record is in the current view window in a ScopeView or TimeView™.  Waveform navigation is also made simpler by the ability to rapidly move the current view window by dragging the Indicator and paging left or right by clicking within the Indicator.
