A Financial Impact Beyond Just Your Lab Budget

We've heard a rumor that some labs have less than unlimited budgets. If yours falls into that category, you need to take a look at M1 OT. There is no other change you can make to your lab that will impact your budget to the degree that M1 can.
- One tool. One cost. One time. NOT a constellation of narrow, expensive programs that only support one scope type, and never get updated. You can easily save 10's of thousands on each new mid/high-end scope purchase with M1... and end up with MUCH more capability.
- Pays for itself before you take it out of the box - M1 will save at least what it cost just in what it will save you in diff probes. If you can possibly probe differential pairs with single-ended probes, M1's built-in True Differential Thresholding will preserve data you WISH you had... like voltage variation vs time at the cross-over point.
- Actually, we just lied about "one cost"... M1 employs scalable pricing so the license you pay for is always in scale with the cost and abilities of the scope on which you are using it. If you're using a $150,000 scope, you'll end up using the top level of M1 (Scope Expert) which is $7995... the software from the scope manufacturer can easily exceed $50,000. If you're using a $5000 scope, you'll be using the lowest-cost M1 (Scope Guide) which is $995. IMPORTANT POINT: Those are the exact same software package, with the exact same capabilities. M1 is priced at five levels, from $995 to $7995, depending on the type of scope you're using it with.
- Service Life Extension - Because you don't have to keep buying new hardware to get the analysis capabilities you need, you can apply your lab budget to solving more important problems. And because when you upgrade your hardware M1 eliminates any disruption of your measurement workflow, your team is more effectively utilized.
- M1 has the only inclusive product strategy on the market... when we come out with new technology, it goes into the product, not into a new, narrow $7500 option (that only runs on one kind of scope). Combined with an ultra-low-cost Reader and Subscription options , your scope-related lab expenses will be more predictible then they have ever been.
All that said, the greatest impact M1 will make on your bottom line will come from the increase in enterprise efficiency and effectiveness that derives from
- getting rid of a constellation of narrow software products with wildly differing interfaces and results, and putting in place a rich set of tools that works with all your scopes through a single user interface
- probably for the first time, giving your team the genuine opportunity to collaborate on any matter that has to do with a waveform.
A few questions you may wish to consider:
- Can replacing dozens of different interfaces and tools with a single tool and a single UI make your team more efficient?
- Is there value in having a common easy-to-use graphical scripting capability for all of the scopes in your enterprise?
- What is the value of speeding up your repetitive bench work by a factor of almost 50? (We didn't pull that number out of thin air; it came from an M1 customer.)
- Is there a bottom-line impact on making it possible for every engineer and tech to identify subtle signal-integrity faults automatically and within seconds of taking the acquisition?
- Is there a financial benefit to instantiating new measurement processes into test scripts instead of taking engineers off line and flying them around the world to train them?
- Can you stretch your lab budget by buying used scopes or leasing? M1 OT doesn't care where your scopes come from.
- Does your company see a benefit to discarding less hardware? Extending the service life of your existing scope fleet rather makes your company quantifiably greener. Some VP at your end will love you for that.
