Eye Diagrams

EyeView™

  • Eye diagrams for Data or Clock Signals
  • Various high pass and software PLL filters can be applied
  • EyeView can either be set to accumulate or not
  • User can normalize the eye diagram
  • Flexibility in displaying the units of the X-axis
  • Control the horizontal delay and width of the EyeView
  • Trigger on ALL edges, or just the POSITIVE edges, or just the NEGATIVE edges

Masks

  • User defined polygon
  • BER measurement available if the mask fails
  • Margin analysis if the mask passes – based on a linear expansion factor of the mask
  • Dozens of pre-defined masks are available
  • User can define and name his own custom masks

Margin Testing on Eye Diagram Masks

  • If the mask passes, the green flag is shown, the Actual BER readout is set to zero
  • Then M1 finds the largest scaling factor that can be applied to the standard mask to create a new larger (but proportional) mask that just starts to see failures
  • The larger margin area is graphically displayed and a numerical value, representing that scaling factor, is reported
  • If the eye mask is failing, then the margin is not calculated, the red flag is shown and the Actual BER is calculated and displayed. BER is based on points that violate the eye mask
